Crooked Billet
21st October 2001

The inevitable British weather didn't stop us in October either when we met up for a social at the "Crooked Billet" pub in Slough.

A somewhat larger crowd than had made Donnington came together to meet up, and we were joined on this occasion by Dennis Leworthy, the VOC club chairman, and Bob Isaac, the 850 register keeper and a director of the club.

We had 9 cars in attendance, 8 of which were 850s (various models) and one V70R - and we even managed to get 9 spaces next to each other on a Sunday lunchtime!

Everyone had a great time, not to mention a great lunch, and - after much putting off, we headed out into the absolutely torrential rain that had hammered the building all day to do anorak stuff under various bonnets.

The meeting was really great, with several new faces joining the section, and also very importantly - this was the occasion that Dennis agreed to make the section official. JOB DONE!
