Powerflex Top Engine Mount |
||
|
The OE top engine mount is notorious on the 850 for breaking and generally for allowing the engine to flop about all over the place. By replacing the top mount with a Powerflex Polyurethane bush which is a much sturdier construction. This has two main advantages. 1.. The engine does not flop about. 2.. More engine noise is transmitted to the cabin - and trust me, the 5 pot on full song does sound very very good! Fitting is quite simple, the old bush is cut out using a reciprocating saw. The new bush installs very easily as it is comprised of two parts which fit into the mount from either side, and are then held in position with a machined metal tube which pushes into the middle. Handy Hint - use some lube to get the tube in! Washing Up liquid is a good starter, or if you have it Hellerman Fluid (an electronics lubricant for fitting rubberised plastics together).
